This man comes door to door selling coconuts. He cuts them so they will set on a table, with a hole in the top and gives you a straw so you can drink the milk.

We had an exciting week last week. We helped with the spade and neuter clinic for dogs and cats. We worked on Wednesday and Friday. Larry was helping in pre-op and I was in recovery. On Wednesday one dog escaped and ran away. The owners did find the dog and said they would bring it back on Thursday. It was Larry that let the dog escape. He had ran after it and brought a dog back. He had the biggest smile on his face, only it was the wrong dog. The owner of the dog was in hot pursuit saying, no, my dog!

On Friday one of the first dogs Larry took out of the carrier decided she wanted nothing to do with this and bite Larry on both hands. The Vet’s wife took Larry to Salud Seguro Popular (the hospital). They cleaned his wounds and bandaged them up. Larry thought one of them should have been stitched but they said no. It was 100 pesos for the visit to the hospital.

When he got back to the clinic the vet demoted him from pre-op to recovery which for me was great as we were short on help.

Today we went to the bay, to Tony’s café on the beach. We went with our friends Val and Ray. We rode in the back of Tony’s pickup.

I found some more shells on my walk down the beach. When I got back to the café Larry and Val were in the water. Ray had gone in but didn’t stay. I decided it was time to go in too. So for the first time this year I went in the water.

Around 3 in the afternoon a car load of people showed up and ordered food. Now Tony gets back at 4 so they can close up but the food for them wasn’t ready to serve until 4:30. We thought of taking a taxi back but decided to wait. We got back to our place at 6:00.

This is how we looked on our way back home.

Even though it was late I really wanted to take a shower. When I looked in the mirror I could not believe how sunburned I was. Luckily we had a lot of really hot water.
We had a great day.
